Hi again, Jerryatrics. You
know, I spent a lot of time
trying to think about what
to discuss in this column
this month. The announce
team as it currently stands?
NO, I think I’ve made my
views on that clear enough.
How awesome Katie is for
what she did? No, I think
that’s clear enough as well.
The tag division? Sure, that
sounds like a wonderful
idea, seeing as how we’ve
got a tag team title defense
from champs Dirk and Billy
at Maelstrom next week.
Yeah, I’ll discuss that. If
that doesn’t interest you,
then feel free not to read.
However, I think most of my
Jerryatrics enjoy getting my
opinion on things, and so I
will give it now.
Firstly, and this is all
truth right here, right now,
I think Dirk and Billy have
been great tag team champs.
Not only are they more than
willing to defend their
titles against anyone who
wants to try to take them,
(it’s not their fault nobody
does), but they practically
embody the spirit of this
company. They are the
superstars everyone here
should strive to be. Loyal,
talented, and all-around
nice guys. Yeah, I know that
sounds weird coming from me,
but there it is. Dirk and
Billy are the kind of champs
people can look up to. The
kind of champs kids will
watch on TV and say “Hey! Ya
know something? I wanna be
like them. I wanna be a
wrestler too.” It’s people
like Dirk and Billy that
will hale the new generation
when it arrives, and I only
hope I’m still in this
business to see that happen.
Now, enough with my
simpering. I also wanted to
talk about their opponents,
Behemoth and Royal. Two
dudes with a pretty decent
shot at getting the titles.
They’ve taken on all comers,
even defended the number one
contendership they had
already earned. They’ve
proven themselves as a tag
team even though they were
just thrown together. I’d
even go so far as to say the
whole experience has been
career-building for both of
them. I hope that, overall,
Dirk and Billy are glad
Behemoth and Royal worked
out as a team, and that
they’re getting challenged
by two people who have
proven themselves worthy. At
least in the sense that
they’ve won all the right
matches. We can’t know what
they’ll be like should they
become champions, but then
we almost never know that
with any champion who gains
any title. All we know is
that they’ve come this far,
and they’re on the edge of
the bigtime as far as tag
teams go. Whether they can
make it is gonna be up to
them.
What we’re looking at here
is an incredible match. And
there might not even be any
blood, so the fact that I’m
saying that really means
something. Behemoth and
Royal, best of luck to you.
I wouldn’t mind seeing just
how you handle being champs.
Dirk and Billy, I just
wanted you guys to know that
you’ve made a fan out of me.
And once again, that’s
saying something. Don’t any
of you forget this edition
of this column, because I’ll
likely never be this nice
again. All this comes from
the heart, though, and so I
decided to put it here. I’m
really looking forward to
this one. Until then, this
is Jerry Sheppard signing
off. See ya at the PPV,
Jerryatrics. |
