Rock you Like a Hurricane begins to play, its guitar standing out as the only sound we hear at first. At the same time, the unplugged logo appears on the screen, flashing to the beat. It moves double-time as the second guitar joins in, and as the song really picks up, it expands outward. Inside it, we see clips of SWA superstars battling it out in all types of matches. This lasts until the pause just before the vocals, when the logo shrinks once again, and morphs into the SWA logo. We then transition to a studio, where trainer Jackson Farnsworth sits behind a desk. Smiling at the camera, he begins to speak. Jackson: Hello and welcome to edition six of STC Unplugged! We’ve got one hell of an action packed night in store for you here as Cody takes on Illusion Delcroix in our first match. Then Chou Taihou makes her return to the ring this week to meet Damien Stivers. Stephanie Frost meets face to face with Roxy Lang after suffering her first defeat last week. Will it stick in her head or will she over come? And finally in our main event we have Thomas Carmichael against Tom “Mad Dog” Tanner. We all saw what happened to Tom at the pay-per-view, will he be able to make a comeback or will Thomas be able to pull out a big win here? We’ll find out all that and more here tonight on Unplugged! But first, before the main course comes the appetizer. That’s why this week, right here on Unplugged, we got an interview with one of the superstars appearing in the night’s events, Damien Stivers. The SWA logo flies across the screen as we transition into the interview. Jackson: First off let me say that it is certainly a pleasure to have you here with us this week, Damien. Damien: Thanks. But to tell the truth, it is Carine who accepted this interview for me. She thought that it is something which would be beneficial for me. I do not like too much to expose myself this way, but she informed me at the last moment so I didn’t have time to cancel. Now that I am here, let us finish this quickly. Ask your questions. Jackson: As usual the first question I ask of all my guests is a rather simple one. What brought you into the world of wrestling? Damien: Love of the challenge, and the passion of combat. I was 14 years old when I escaped the orphanage where I had been placed since birth. To be all alone on the street while being adolescent is not an easy thing. I took small jobs until I could afford to take the one I really wanted. I slept where I could. One day, I entered a bar which hosted fights. The confrontations were hard and the two participants left the zone of combat in very bad condition, gaining or losing. However I told myself that it was a golden opportunity, and so I issued a challenge. The owner refused at first, saying I was too young, but I eventually persuaded him. He let me fight, but he was certain I would give up. He was wrong, however. I continued to return. I gained a large sum of money with each victory because people always bet against me, but it didn’t matter anymore. I continued this for three years, and then I met someone who was willing to teach me the art of Backyard fighting. I gave up the dangerous combat in which I took part, and launched myself into this new, less risky adventure. I found balance there to such a degree that I decided to make a career of it. I finally became professional in 2002. Jackson: You've had some very nice matches here in the STC, who do you think your toughest competitor has been and why? Damien: I will say Christian McClane. Our match had really stolen the show. He has very good physical and technical capabilities, as well as a sharp-edged spirit. His victory however leaves me with a bitter taste because it was a mistake of mine that gave it to him. This is why I hope to have the chance of a rematch against him. Jackson: If you could face anyone here in the STC who would it be and why? Damien: I do not have a preference. I prefer to concentrate on the adversaries which are given to me. Moreover I am certain that I will end up finding a few friends here in the STC. When I do move up to the main roster, though, I would like to face Tom Tanner who I believe will be an interesting challenge. Jackson: What do you think makes you an ideal candidate to move up to the SWA main roster? Damien: My performances in the ring speak for me even when I’m not at my best. Now, it is not for me to judge whether I am better than anyone else or not. that is the job of the bookers. My only job now is in the ring. In all honesty, I am not concerned at all with this kind of thing as long as I get to wrestle in a ring. Jackson: What are some of your goals here in the STC as well as the SWA as a whole? Damien: Sorry, I never reveal my projects. I like to surprise people. Jackson: What do you think of your fellow STC superstars? Damien: They all are full of dreams of glory and prestige. Everyone imagines themselves the ”future star” of this company. All that interests me, though, is being able to kick their ass. Jackson: Is there any final words you'd like to leave us with? Damien: I believe that I said enough. Now excuse me, I must go. With that, there is a brief, transitional graphic, and then another showing Cody and Illusion Delcroix, followed again by clips. Jackson: And after that fantastic interview, let’s get down to business. We’re going straight to it here! Cody stepped into the ring with Illusion Delcroix and really, he might as well have just gone home. Illusion showed her dominance here tonight, making small work of Cody and pulling out the big win. Good job this week Mrs. Delcroix, we are all looking forward to seeing some more! Another transition, and we see another graphic which shows Chou Taihou and Damien Stivers. Jackson: In our second match up here tonight we saw Chou Taihou facing off against Damien Stivers. Damien had this match in the bag early on and he showed us all just how easy it was for him to win as he set the pace for the entire match. Chou was struggling and seemed to be no match for Stivers as he was three steps ahead of her the whole time. Are Chou’s days numbered here in the STC? Who knows for sure, but what is clear is that Damien is starting to blaze his path towards the front of the pack. A graphic appears, showing Stephanie Frost and Roxy Lang. We then see clips of the match as Jackson continues to speak. Jackson: Wow what an explosive match we had here as Stephanie Frost worked hard, coming off of her first loss, against Roxy Lang! After we recovered from the creepy sight of Roxy’s clothing, which appeared to be a joint effort of her and her tag partner, we got to the match. There was a lot of back and forth between both of these tough competitors but it seems that last week’s loss provided the right amount of added fire that Stephanie needed to make her come back here tonight! No one can say that Roxy didn’t give it her all, it was a match that many hopped would continue on but in the end Frost managed to recover the victory. A special Main Event graphic appears then, showing Tom “Mad Dog” Tanner and Thomas Carmichael. Clips follow. Jackson: It was a jaw shattering main event as veteran Tom ‘Mad Dog’ Tanner took on rookie Thomas Carmichael. After that cheap shot from Ventor at Maelstrom Tanner’s focus seemed to be all over the place. He brought it hard to Thomas but Thomas seemed to be ready for it. It was a hard fought bought all around but Carmichael was able to get the upper hand late in the match, rolling up Tanner for the win. Heads have been turned here this week, could we see one of these superstars rising up to the SWA main roster? It would be sad to see them go but watching them compete in the big show would be well worth it! We fade after seeing a shot of Thomas Carmichael standing in the ring, watching Tom “Mad Dog” Tanner heading into the back, accompanied by his manager Reynolds. Jackson: That was all she wrote for this week, some big wins, some devastating losses and an all around hard hitting show! Edition six of Unplugged is in the books as we look forward to next week’s show. So stay tuned, don’t look away and make sure you’re ready to get Unplugged! Rock you Like a Hurricane plays again, and now we see both the SWA and Unplugged logos, which slowly fade out until the screen is black. |
