"Comatose" by Skillet begins to play
as we open up on the
travelling Wristlock studio.
We have our usual setup as
we zoom in on Mieke and she
smiles to the cameras.
Mieke: Welcome back to the Wristlock
everyone. I don't have any
specific topic to start us
off today, as I feel most
that I want to talk about
I'll cover in my show review
and previews. So expect
quite a few sidebars along
the way. With that said,
let's get right into it.
Bloodsport was a noteworthy
show to say the least, not
that SWA Pay Per Views don't
usually deliver but this one
had more than it's fair
share of twists and turns
along the way. We got one
right from the beginning, as
the show opened with
Commissioner Daniels making
her way out to the ring
saying she wanted her match
against JR for the
Commissioner Championship
right then and there under
any stipulation he wanted.
Granted JR has struggled
greatly to say the least his
first two matches, but I
still question her decision
given she had a match
scheduled later that night.
Her arrogance shining
through most likely. And
somehow this led to Gidget
The Midget coming out
instead, saying he talked to
JR and that it was decided
he was the best man for the
job. Long story short, he
challenged for the title in
a game of Rock, Paper,
Scissors and failed
miserably before claiming a
conspiracy against him.
You'd think people would
learn by now that the
brilliant plan of trying to
win titles in that fashion
doesn't work. After the
fact, he stole her title
belt for a moment before she
got it back, more
shenanigans ensued and we
finally got to our first
match. And I'm sure once
that got kicked off, some
people were hoping the
midget would come back out.
I'll just cut to the chase,
the Bread Zombie won and put
Cody in a giant sandwich.
Yeah I know, anyways moving
on ...
She sighs before taking a sip of her
water.
Mieke: We then had the Elimination
Tables Match, and apparently
I gave Lance King too much
credit by predicting he
could at least formulate
enough of a strategy to
manage to avoid being the
first elimination. Really,
Behemoth's head clearly
wasn't in it as much as
usual this week. He admitted
he overlooked Lance because
he was hoping Simon would be
in the match with him, and
Lance couldn't use that to
muster the fuel and drive to
figure out some way to
extract some revenge? This
man is even more useless
than I thought. Every since
he got figured out, he's
been coming off like more
and more of a fool with each
loss. Between the fact he
seems more concerned about
his stupid workout center in
his garage than his career
and his apparent complete
lack of understanding of how
this business works despite
being a 15 year veteran I
really see no redeeming
qualities in him. I
sincerely hope he gets
wished well in his future
endeavors soon, and finds
another line of work that
doesn't involve him being on
my TV screen. As for the
rest of the match, it was a
brutal back and forth
contest with Alex just
managing to edge out
Behemoth. Both men left it
all out there and should be
proud of their performance.
A big win for Alex as well,
as he continues rounding
back into the form that
brought him so much success
here in the past.
She pauses for a moment to catch her
breath after that rant.
Mieke: Our Commissioner walked out of
the Triple Threat Cage Match
with the Anarchy Title which
followed, and while I can't
say I think she needed
anything else to make her
ego swell larger than it
already is I do hope she'll
be able to do some good with
the title. Also, I have to
say it was nice to see it
end in a pinfall rather than
escaping the cage. As for
the two losers of the match,
hopefully they take this as
a learning experience. It
would be especially nice to
see Stephanie pick herself
up and use this to better
herself, although I fear she
may just throw a tantrum
instead. Following that we
had the Joe vs. Persephone I
Quit match, and as I
predicted Joe completely
downplayed the possibility
that it would matter that he
was obviously walking into a
trap. And he paid dearly for
it, Brian Sasso ran in and
absolutely destroyed that
man. I can say that's the
last we've seen of Joe in
the SWA at least for a long
time, and it's rather
fitting that his arrogance
came back to bite him in the
ass. Afterwards, Brian also
got into a confrontation
with Persephone and she
probably didn't make the
wisest moving spitting in
the face of the hothead
which led to her getting
laid out with a kick. It
probably was a bit
excessive, but I think
that's just what happens
when you have two violent
tempers like that clashing.
She shakes her head.
Mieke: Moving on we have breaking news
coming from the Ironman
Match, Alan Drake is still a
raving lunatic. That
pre-match promo he cut was
scary to say the least, and
who knows how far he would
have gone post-match if Sam
Lavelle hadn't laid him out.
He was clearly incensed that
Derek got the better of him
yet again, and I get the
feeling things are only
going to get worse for him
and his wounded pride. I'm
sure Alan will think this
match was some conspiracy
between Derek and Damien to
embarrass him, even though
it seemed Damien was just
doing his job out there. We
cut backstage after and it
was really not Persephone's
night. A seemingly innocent
encounter with the then
Xtreme Champion Julio Valdez
led to her ending up with a
steel chair slid around her
neck and her getting laid
out in what was a gruesome
looking impact. Hopefully
that was worse than it
looked and she doesn't have
any serious neck damage. I
have my theories as to why
Julio seemed to snap on her,
but I'll just wait to see
what he has to say. Finally
we had the Xtreme Timed
Battle Royal, it was a
brutal encounter for sure
but the overarching theme
was that Sam Lavelle came
saw, and kicked ass. It
should be noted also that
Thomas Von Karstein, Angel
Acheron, Thomas Carmichael,
Sawyer Psychotic, Julio
Valdez and as I predicted
Gidget The Midget scored
pinfalls of their own during
the match. And on an
unfortunate note, it appears
Damien Stivers injured
himself badly on a missed
moonsault. The risk comes
with the territory in these
matches, but the word is
he'll be out for a long
time. Best wishes that he
can eventually resume his
career at some point.
Her face and tone turn a bit solemn
before she clears her
throat.
Mieke: Anyhow, a great victory for Sam
which was spoiled by an
opportunistic Seth Blitzer
who attacked her with a
briefcase and stole the
title after the match. It
was a spit in the face of
her and everyone who busted
their ass in that match. But
well within the rules, so
what are you going to do? I
just wonder if the
vulture-like Blitzer
realizes what he's gotten
himself into. A pissed off
Sam after him, not to
mention the fact that any of
the other people I could see
taking up for her are also
extremely dangerous
individuals? Good luck with
that sport, hope it was
worth it. And now, onto this
week's Edge.
The Edge graphic appears on the screen
followed by one for Sherman
Witicker vs. Damien Blake.
Mieke: As much as I'd love to see an
upset here, I unfortunately
see Blake managing to pull
this one off. It's also a
match I think gives us the
possibility for some
hilarious pre-match banter,
but I'm guessing Blake is
going to wait all week to
grace us with his presence
so I don't think we'll get
any good back and forth
either.
That graphic is replaced by one for
Renee Parfell vs. Legion.
Mieke: Neither one of these two have
impressed me much so far,
but unfortunately I can't
predict that they'll both
lose. I am going to show
some faith though, something
that will come back to bite
me I'm sure. And I will
attribute Renee's attitude
against Stephanie to first
match jitters from making
her debut on the big stage
being a rather young and
excitable type. So I'm
thinking we'll see a bit
more focus from her and
she'll manage to use her
quickness to get the better
of Legion. And I still think
Legion needs to bulk up
some, his size and power is
the best thing he's got
going for him but it'll be
really easy to chop him down
and take that away walking
around on those skinny
chicken legs.
The next graphic is for Royal Delange
vs. B Cool.
Mieke: I have to give this one to the
veteran B Cool here. Royal I
get the feeling is still
very green and rough around
the edges, so as long as B
Cool doesn't make any big
slip ups here I think his
experience will be too much
to overcome. And even if he
does make a mistake out
there, you always have the
question of whether Royal
can capitalize on it.
We then see the graphic for Brian
Sasso vs. Ventor.
Mieke; I didn't go into too much
detail about Sasso's return
to the active roster before,
but I'll use this
opportunity to. Personally,
I think he'll inject a bit
of much needed life into
things. How much that
accomplishes, who knows but
you know he's not afraid to
start stuff. I feel he'll be
victorious here against
Ventor despite the layoff as
well. Ventor's doing better,
but there are only a few
people I'd bet on against
Sasso and he's not one of
them.
Finally we see one for the Riz vs.
Dominic McManus Money In The
Bank Qualifier.
Mieke; And main eventing, we've got
the first qualifying match
for a Money In The Bank
match that will be happening
at Altitude. This is a huge
opportunity for Dominic to
step his game up, but I
don't think he'll be able to
do so enough. Riz is too
tough an opponent, and I
expect him to be able to
dispose of someone who is
honestly lucky to have even
gotten a qualifier. Now,
onto the mailbag.
After going through her usual
preparations she begins
reading the first question.
Mieke: Our first question comes from
Brock in Adelaide, he wants
to know why I was so mean to
Jeff and apparently thinks
that the whole question last
week was a big joke made up
by me. Adding in that Jeff
could easily become Skyfall
Champion if he wanted to.
Well first of all, I resent
the implication that I'd do
that. I don't even select
the questions that are read
out. And I don't think
you're much of an SWA fan
Brock if you don't think the
talent pool here is a bit
better than that or that we
have all sorts of desperate
has beens trying to get work
here. Now please, leave the
questions to people who are
actually fans of the best
wrestling company out there.
She takes another drink of water.
Mieke: And our other one this week
comes from Rocket in
Switzerland. Nice name by
the way, especially if
you're a Beagle or Jack
Russell Terrier. He heard a
rumor that Roger Miller will
be returning to the SWA
sporting a new look
including a thick beard, in
order to appear tougher and
more manly. And that he may
be adopting a gimmick based
off of King Leonidas to go
with his new look. Also, if
it is true he'd like to know
if I think this is a wise
idea. He personally feels it
would equal big money. Well,
I can safely say that
there's no truth to this
rumor. When Roger does feel
ready to return, I don't
think there's going to be
any gimmicks to go with it.
And for the record, I think
that would be a horrible
idea. Well that's all the
time we have for this week,
see you all next time.
"Comatose" begins to play again as the
scene slowly pans out before
we fade to the SWA logo and
then to black. |
